Chantilly

A while ago, during orientation for my program, we took a trip outside of Paris to Chantilly. It's a really beautiful area with a huge castle and gorgeous gardens designed by Le Notre, who also designed Versailles. Parts of the castle date back to the 14th century, but the Grand Chateau was destroyed during the French Revolution and rebuilt during the late 1800s.  And chantilly (whipped cream) was supposedly invented here. Yum!

We spent a day there, walking around the grounds, going to the museum, seeing a classical music concert, and just getting to know each other.  I took lots of pictures!

Puppies!!

And a moat!

Inside the castle

A secret door that some lost tourists walked through. And pretty walls.

Library and map room

Some other Fulbright people

Concert stage was in the stables...very unique setting!
